I didn't know what to think when I saw the video of the officers discussing the Uvalde school gunman's weapon. It was confusing and sad to me -- I kept thinking 'but you outnumber him. He will continue killing whether you go in or stand there.' Thank you for this clear analysis and conclusion, especially of those people who want to use this tragedy to control and take away responsible people's constitutional right to own guns.

In a ridiculous contrast, Eli Dicken, in the mall in Greenwood, IN, armed only with a Glock pistol, went up against a guy with an AR-15. He had no particular training, no body armor, no backup from a dozen folks around him. It was just that young man against a murderous asshole. He got the job done.

The cops in Uvalde, with far superior training and equipment, refused to get the job done. They are accomplices to the brutal murder of 19 children and 2 adults that day. They can make all the excuses they like, the bottom line is that they are cowards, not men. Men run to the sound of the guns. Cowards slink and cower and avoid the guns. They took our money for years, swaggered around town in their uniforms, hassled citizens, wrote tickets, and arrested drunks. But when the time came to earn their pay, they cowered in the hallway.

Someone should look at how many citizens of Uvalde purchased firearms after the shooting. It would have been the first thing I did.

So you are saying the Uvalde police were not using muzzle loaders?
