There's nothing to be gained by arguing with anarcho-communists
Here's visual proof. And some harsh words to go along with it.
In the below linked video from 2020, a First Amendment auditor, on a whim, wanders into a protest at the Denver Capitol. What happens after is why nothing fruitful can ever come from trying to make your case to anarcho-communists, especially those who style themselves as a Praetorian Guard for whichever leftist grievance group happens to be today’s fashion.
From the context of what you can hear of a speaker’s address to the crowd as it’s been memorialized in this video, it appears that this gathering may have had something to do — albeit tangentially, and largely superficially — with the Black Lives Matter movement. But what the whole video makes clear is that the ostensible proximate cause for the protest is entirely incidental: the only cause the anarcho-communists care about is attacking those they believe may think differently from them, all of whom must of course, because of their Wrongthink, be fascist right wingers who pose a public danger simply by existing.
It’s time we begin thinking of Antifa and those who align with the putative “anti-fascist” movement — themselves the epitome of contemporary fascist brown shirts who cosplay as radical Marxists — as foreign creatures, the actual Other whose minds we will not change and whose behavior we should not abide nor allow. These people are quite explicitly anti-American in every important sense: they have no regard for the rights of those they oppose; and yet they’d claim every conceivable right for themselves, including their “right” to harm those whose goals don’t comport with theirs. And their true goal — their prime objective — is to cleanse the earth of those who won’t bow to their desires and fill the ranks of their mob.
In the comments to the video from Amagansett Press, supporters of the videographer, Jason, laud him for his willingness to stand up to this particular mob, and to argue his case intelligently and thoroughly, with a degree of cultivated calm.
Me, I have a different take — one I may not have had 22 years ago when I started the original protein wisdom website: arguing with committed leftists is useless. They are fixated by ideology, impervious to logic, and dedicated to achieving power any way possible. Grievance politics is just one way of trying to do that, as the victimization gambit has proven profitable to that end.
And so watching this video — watching a sincere citizen committed to the absolute protections of the First Amendment be treated with such disrespect, hostility, belittlement, and utter hatred, no matter how much he pleads his case — at first saddened me, then sickened me, and finally angered me.
But the twist is this: I found myself not angry at the anarcho-communist punks who lie as easily as they breathe. Because I know who and what they are, and I’ve long since learned that those of us who relish our founding ideals cannot peacefully co-exist with them, making some sort of future separation inevitable at this point. Rather, I found myself getting more and more angry at the 1A auditor who so clearly and desperately wants to find common ground with these malicious faux-revolutionaries that he grants them a respect they haven’t earned and gives them plaudits they don’t deserve, however mildly.
It’s admirable that he stood his ground. But as the interaction moved along, it became completely obvious that nothing he argued was going to sway this mob of larping Maoists, who viewed him with utter disdain, and with no intention of considering his positions, however much he pleaded that they intersected with their own putative causes. And that’s because violent, committed leftists don’t have any real causes: instead, the causes they adopt at any moment are mere pretexts toward power, control, nihilism, and the complete destruction of the whole of traditional western culture and values.
The Kyle Rittenhouse ordeal proved this thesis with prejudice: the people “protesting” the death of George Floyd with looting, assault, and fire, would have just as soon found any pretext to protest violently, and in fact spend much of their time trying to find excuses to harm others while staying on the side of cynically-crafted “virtue.” We saw that in the marauders Rittenhouse shot, who attempted to use the cover of a mob to do grievous harm to him. I have no doubt they would have surely killed him had they been able to. They are parasites who don’t recognize how essential to their existence are the very hosts they seek to destroy, Useful Idiots who serve as nothing more than apparatchiks to power while fancying themselves champions of change; and there is no more reason to treat them as anything other than a social virus.
Now. I know how harsh this sounds. And I know it may speak poorly of me as a former academic, who has long trafficked in persuasion and attempts, in my writing and discourse over the decades, to reach some sort of workable consensus that respects the freedom of others while guarding my own and that of my fellow citizens.
The bitter reality, though, is this: as we move inexorably toward a world in which biased AI will be sold as an arbiter of objective reality, replacing laughable “fact checkers” and show tune-singing “disinformation experts” with a technology whose interpretative authority we’ll be assured can’t be meaningfully challenged, we need to be prepared either to remove ourselves from the clutches of a permanent fascist technocracy run by credentialed elites who have not earned the right to rule us, or we must surrender to it. Because to borrow from Kyle Reese, listen, and understand! The global communist “reset” is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop... ever, until you are completely subjugated or dead!
So if you’re at all inclined, watch this video. In fact, watch it over and over until its unspoken message sinks in: we are not competing in a marketplace of ideas any longer; instead, we are being confronted by a hostile force who, in the realm of electoral politics, will try to put on a benign face as it works to rob you of individual autonomy and whatever liberties it believes may stand in the way of its full dominion over you. And all the smirking, dull-eyed, prevaricating, screeching robots it controls are being orientated toward one goal only: the repeal of your natural rights, which returns you to serfdom. You can see it in the eyes of the old leftist who cites Kurosawa and plays the sage while inwardly he laughs at the automatons who revere him, and whose numbers he would happily exploit as one might pawns on a chessboard.
Will neo-feudalism come in the form of rags and indentured servitude on small parcels of land? No. This leftist force today is far too sophisticated for that. Instead, it will come in the way of various incentives and disincentives, a kind of Cass Sunstein wet dream where the nudge is the unit of control, and the “libertarian paternalism” (read: intentionally inconspicuous rule by a leftist elite masquerading as “behavior architecture”) will leave you feeling “safe,” with various creature comforts at your disposal, at the cost of your liberty.
Binging Netflix series will be the new Soma. And should you hold the proper views and make the proper noises at the duly prescribed times, you’ll live largely unmolested lives, save for those protections you traded for the permanent embrace of the Nannystate.
— None of which can work without the threat of violence lurking behind it, immune to eroding niceties like equality before the law, or equal protection under it. And it’s the anarcho-communist thugs that you see in this video — a type of leftist walking dead — that will be there to shank you, without trial, in a summary judgment of pure power, and without a shred of remorse, their hatred of you is so utterly complete.
Untether. Reboot. Before it’s too late.
I said something similar to another friend a few weeks ago. I told her that that ilk could not be persuaded. She disagreed with me vehemently, saying that if we simply found the correct words, we could reach them. I love her, but I laughed at her naivete. There is no common ground to be found with them because they want me IN the ground, not above it.
When I was five years old, my Eastern European grandmother who managed to survive Lenin, Hitler, and Stalin, sat me down in the farmyard one summer and told me something I have absolutely no argument with. She said "Communists are devils".
