“Free speech” isn’t for the little people
High profile accounts may be restored. The rest of us, though? Forever plebes?
11/19 Update: Today, I was once again denied reinstatement. Please read my post here with this in mind. Speech is reach. Which, it so happens, finally answers the age old question about trees falling in forests: they only make a sound if a billionaire who owns the forest decides they do, and he is picky about what trees he grants freedoms to.
I was banned twice from Twitter, both times over Covid posts that were in each instance accurate and sourced.
The first time, I lost close to 12k followers; the second time, I’d regained close to 4K before being banned again
But evidently, that’s not enough to have my place in the digital public square — which I’ve been active in since proteinwisdom.com launched in early 2002 — restored.
Nope. I’m still on the outside looking in. Despite all the smoke being blown up Elon Musk’s ass as a free speech champion. What, exactly, has changed?
Here’s what I’ll guarantee: those with check marks who were banned will be reinstated, and with great fanfare. This will sate the rightwing influencers, who will then continue to laud Musk as some speech hero.
But we plebes?
Well, here’s what “new Twitter” had to say about my appeal:
So much for the return of free speech, I guess.
Incidentally, every position I took that led to my suspension has been posted on Twitter since Musk took over. I was banned for informing our current “Covid Czar” that his declaration that those who took the mRNA vaccine wouldn’t catch Covid was belied by foreign data — and later became abundantly clear in the US.
Similarly, I was banned for noting that the Covid vaccines weren’t “vaccines” until the definition of “vaccine” was changed to envelope a therapeutic (at best).
I took screen shots of many of the positions I’d taken previously now being openly spouted on Twitter, none of which have led to bans or even suspensions.
What do these posts — or target, posters — all have in common?
You be the judge.
The Elect are not all on the left, it would seem.
The big guns on the right don’t seem in any hurry to stand up for those of us who simply don’t rate — no matter how much their successes are a result of standing on our shoulders.
Typical.
But whatever.
Maybe this will change. Maybe Musk just needs more time to clean house. Maybe I was denied reinstatement by a lingering dead ender. Time will tell.
Meantime, though, I am Lobo. I hunt alone.

Jeff, I just posted this on Twitter. Twitter is not the same without you.
