Humpday news recap in digestible bites

1. My surgery went well yesterday, I’m told. But it’s going to be 48-72 hours of real pain, swelling, and — here — one-handed typing. So forgive the brevity and dearth of material. I’m working on one hour of fitful sleep.

   I’ll be casted up for 3 weeks or so. But the end game is pain-free use of my hand. Which will be a welcome relief.

   Incidentally, my three discarded wrist bones are considered “medical waste,” so I was not allowed to take them home with me. So there went my plans for a hearty soup broth.
